ABSTRACT
Objective: This Study Was Designed To Assess The Prevalence Of Caries Among Sudanese And Egyptian To Compare The Caries Index Between Them In Adult Population Living In Cairo More Than Two Years. Methods: A Cross-sectional Study Was Conducted On A Sample Of 240 Patients Who Were Participating In The Study ,18-40 Years Of Age, Were Each Patient Was Evaluated Firstwith DMFT (decayed, Missing, And Filledteeth) .Evaluating Patients? Dietary Habits (amount And Frequency Of Sugar And Fermentable Carbohydrate Intake, Including Acidic Beverages Or Candies) Frequency Of Eating, Physical Properties Of Food Texture, Consistency And Temperature Of Food The Frequency Of Consumption, Snacking Or Sipping Of Foods And Beverages, Can Promote Dental Caries. Then This Data Was Used For CAMBRA Chart .
Results: The Mean Of DMFT Of Study Sample Was 7.69 In Egyptian And 6.95 In Sudanese Showing No Statistical Or Clinical Significantdifference. The Result Of CAMBRA Scores For Comparison Between Egyptian Vs. Sudanese Showed No Statistical Or Clinical Significantdifference Between Two Population.
Conclusions: Oral Health Generally And Caries In Specificare Greatly Affected By Population Culture. As Most Of The Egyptian Population Suffer From Bad Oral Hygiene That May Affect Caries Index. However Sudanese Population Has Good Oral Hygiene But They Still Have Bad Dietary Habits That Greatly Affect Caries Index. The Type Of Diet And Dietary Culture Plays An Important Role In Dental Caries Which Varies According To Different Nationality And Countries.
