ABSTRACT

Purpose: The Aim Of This Study Was To Clinically And Radiographically Evaluate Early Loaded Dental Implants After Local Application Of Strontium Ranelate (SR) In The Osteotomy Site.

Materials and Methods: The Study Comprised 16 Patients Who Were Randomly Assigned Into 2 Equal Groups. Group I Patients Received Titanium Implants After Local Application Of SR While Group II Patients Received Titanium Implants With No Drug Application. All Implants Were Early Loaded At 3 Weeks After Placement. All Patients Were Evaluated Clinically Regarding: Implant Stability (PTM), Gingival Health (AngBI), Pri-implant Probing Depth (PD) And Esthetics Using Pink Esthetic Score (PES), And Radiographically Regarding Marginal Bone Loss (MBL) At 1, 3 And 6 Months After Loading.

Results: During The Follow Up Period Of 6 Months, The Success Rate Of The 16 Implants Was 100%. The 16 Patients Attended The Follow Up Recalls Till The End Of The Study Period. These Patients Showed No Postoperative Inconveniences And Implants Showed Successful Signs Of Osseointegration With No Signs Of Failure (soft Tissue Dehiscence, Infection Or Loosening Of Implants), No Significant Difference Was Found When We Compared Between Both Groups. Conclusion: Based On These Short-term Results, Early Loading Of Titanium Implants After Local Application Of Strontium Ranelate In The Osteotomy Site Showed No Significant Improvement Of Implant Success In The Study Group Patients.
