ABSTRACT
Aim Of Study: To Assess Nanobone Grafting Material Manufactured By Nanotechnology In The Treatment Of Intrabony Defects In Chronic Periodontitis. Patients And Methods: Tweleve Patients With A Total Number Of 24 Osseous Defectsas Determined Clinically And Radiographically Were Selected For The Study. The Selected Sites Were Treated With Access Flap Surgery Were Divided Into Two Groups: Group I (control Group) Was Treated With Open Flap Depridement Only (OFD) And Group II (study Group) Treated With OFD + NBG. Following Clinical And Radiographic Parameters Were Recorded At Baseline, 3 Months And 6 Months Post Operatively Probing Pocket Depth (PPD); Clinical Attachment Level (CAL) ; Plaque Index (PI) ;Gingival Index (GI) ; Alveolar Bone Loss (ABL); Bone Density (BD).

Results: Both Groups Showed Improvement In Clinical And Radiographic Parameters Although They Are Statistically Insignificant. Upon Comparing The Results Of Both Treatment Modalities ,No Statistically Significant Difference Was Detected Regarding GI,PI,PD,CAL,ABL And BD Scores Along The Whole Studied Period With P-value>0.05. Conclusion: Treatment Of Intrabony Periodontal Defects With NBG Led To More Improvement In Clinical And Radiographic Outcomes As Compared To OFD, However, The Difference Between The Two Groups Was Statistically In-significant For Any Of The Parameter Measured.
