ABSTRACT
This Study Was Carried Out To Investigate The Antibacterial Activity Of The Nano Filled Glass Ionomer And Compare It To Other Two Types Of Glass Ionomer Materials Resin Modified Glass Ionomer And Conventional Glass Ionomer. M&M: 45 Discs Of Glass Ionomer Were Prepared, 15 From Each Material, Of 2 Mm Thickness And 5 Mm Diameter Using Sterile Teflon Mold And Stored For The One Day, One Week And One Month. The Antibacterial Activity Of The Used Materials Was Tested By Agar Diffusion Test Using Streptococcus Mutans By Measuring The Diameter Of The Inhibition Zone In Millimeters.

Results: The Effect Of Different Restorative Materials On Mean Antibacterial Effect (mm) Regardless Of Other Variables Revealed That Nano Ionomer Showed The Lowest Significant Mean Antibacterial Effect Followed By Conventional Glass Ionomer Followed By Resin Modified Glass Ionomer. Conclusion: All Types Of Glass Ionomer Used In This Study Showed Satisfactory Antibacterial Capacities.
