ABSTRACT
A Range Of Calcium-silicate Based Cements Showed A High Success In Bone Contact Applications Because Of Their Biocompatibility And Bioactivity. Therefore, Silicate-containing Bioactive Materials Are Now Investigated For Bone Tissue Engineering Scaffold Fabrication. This Study Aimed To Fabricate Portland Cement Based Scaffolds Using A Simple And Economic Method. The Prepared Scaffolds Were Fabricated Using Different Concentrations Of Hydrogen Peroxide (10% And 20%) As Porogens With Different Powder/liquid Ratios (2:1, 1.75:1, 1.5:1 And 1.25:1). Results Revealed That 10% Concentration Of Hydrogen Peroxide Produced Scaffolds Of Compressive Strength Within The Range Of That Of Trabecular Bone And Accepted Porosity When The Powder/liquid Ratio Of 2:1 Was Used.
