EFFECT OF DENTAL EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM ON ORAL HYGIENE STATUS AMONG INSTITUTIONALIZED DEAF CHILDREN. A RANDOMIZED CONTROLLED TRIAL

ABSTRACT
The Aims Of This Study Were To Assess: 1) The Effect Of Dental Educational Program On Oral Hygiene Among Institutionalized Hearing Impaired And Mute Children And 2)assess Particpants Satisfaction Toward Oral Health Via Questionaire Before And After Program. Two Hundred And Thirty Eight Children Within Age Range (6-12) Included In This Study Divided Into Two Equal Groups, Intervention Group And Control Group. Intervention Group Received Educational Program And Control Group Didn?t. Oral Hyiegne Simplified Index(OHIs) Was Done For Both Groups At Baseline And At Three Follow Up Visits (at 1st Week, 3rd Week And 6th Week). Questionnaire Was Taken At The Basline And At The End Of Study To Assess Particpants Satisfaction Toward Oral Health. The Result Of The Study Showed Significant Improvement In Oral Hygiene Status And Significant Improvement In Participant Satisfaction Toward Oral Health In The Intervention Group After The Educational Program.
