ABSTRACT
Objective: The Present Study Conducted To Compare The Regenerative Potential Of Guided Bone Regeneration (control Group) To Platelet Rich Fibrin (test Group), In Immediate Implant Placement In Mandibular Molars.
Materials and Methods: 20 Patients And 20 Mandibular Molars Have Been Extracted And Replaced By Immediate Implant. Deproteinized Bovine Bone (Xenograft) Was Used As A Filling Material In Control Group While Platele-rich Fibrin Was Used As The Test Group. Cone Beam CT Was Obtained Preopetively, Immediately Post-operatively For Evaluation Of Implant Placement And 6 Months Postoperatively. Osstell Reading Were Taken At The Time Of Implant Placement And Implant Exposure (6 Months)
Results: Mean Bone Loss In The Xenograft Group Was 1.92? 1.0 While That Of The Platlet Rich Fibrin Group Was 1.3?0.78 And This Was Non-statistically Significant P=0.137. The Mean ISQ Value Of Guided Bone Regeneration Group Is 62.0?7.23, And 67.4?7.15 Platelet-rich Fibrin Group. This Was Statistically Nonsignificant P=0.110
Conclusion: Within The Limitation Of This Study, Immediate Implant Placement In Mandibular Molars With Guided Bone Regeneration Or Platelet Rich Fibrin Will Inevitably Result In Marginal Bone Loss. However, Implant Stability Has Shown Statistical Improvement In Both Groups.
