ABSTRACT
The Aim Of The Present Study Was To Evaluate And Compare The Post-operative Pain After Single Visit And Multiple Visit Root Canal Treatment In Asymptomatic Necrotic Mandibular Molars Using OneShape Rotary Instrument After 6, 24, 48 Hours And 7 Days Using Modified Visual Analogue Scale (mVAS).

Materials and Methods: Forty Four Patients With Asymptomatic Non Vital Mandibular Molars Were Included In This Trial. After Confirming The Diagnosis Clinically And Radiographically, Patients Were Randomly Assigned Into Two Equal Groups Of 22 Patients Each. The Single Visit Endodontic Treatment Assigned To The Intervention Group, While Multiple Visit Endodontic Treatment Assigned To The Control Group. Standard Endodontic Treatment Was Performed For Both Groups Using Rotary OneShape Files For Shaping, 2.6% Sodium Hypochlorite For Irrigation And Single Cone Technique With Resin Sealer For Obturation. No Intracanal Medicament Was Used In The Multiple Visits Group.

Results: Results Showed That There Was No Significant Difference In Postoperative Pain (at 6, 24, 48 Hours And 7 Days) Between Single Visit And 1st Visit Of Multiple Visit Groups. But There Was A Significant Difference Between Single Visit And 2nd Visit Of Multiple Visits Group In Postoperative Pain At 6h, 24h And 48 Hours, And There Was No Significant Difference In Postoperative Pain After 7 Days. Conclusion: Within The Limitation Of The Present Study, It Can Be Concluded That: There Is No Statistical Difference In Postoperative Pain (at 6, 24, 48hours And 7 Days) Between Single Visit And 1st Visit Of Multiple Visit Groups. The Incidence And Intensity Of Postoperative Pain In Both Groups Gradually Reduced Over The Study Period. The Highest Prevalence Of Postoperative Pain Was Higher During 24 Hours In Single Visit Group And After 1st Visit In Multiple Visit Group. There Is A Significant Difference Between Single Visit And 2nd Visit Of Multiple Visit Group In Postoperative Pain At 6h, 24h Hours, And There Was No Significant Difference In Postoperative Pain After 48hours And 7 Days.
