EVALUATION OF POST-OPERATIVE PAIN FOLLOWING INDIRECT PULP TREATMENT IN YOUNG PERMANENT TEETH USING ANTIBACTERIAL VERSUS CONVENTIONAL BONDING SYSTEM: A RANDOMIZED CLINICAL TRIAL

ABSTRACT
Background: Dental Caries Is The Most Prevalent Disease Worldwide. It?s One Of The Greatest Challenges To The Integrity Of The Developing Tooth. Indirect Pulp Therapy Is Proposed As An Alternative To The Usual Care For Carious Lesion Management. However There Is No Sufficient Evidence That Supports That Technique And Best Capping Materials. Methods: Randomized, Clinical Trial To Evaluate The Clinical And Radiographic Success Of Indirect Pulp Capping. Using Two-step Antibacterial Bonding System Versus Conventional One. This Study Was Carried Out On Thirty Six Children. Divided In Two Groups; One Group Had ?One Step? Indirect Pulp Capping Using Antibacterial Bonding, Another One Had The Same Treatment But With Conventional Bonding. Clinical And Radiographic Follow Up Was Carried Out Immediate Postoperative, Two, And Nine Months.

Results: By Statistical Analysis It Was Found That Both Groups Were Comparable In Postoperative Pain (p=1.000). As Regards Secondary Outcomes, Clinically; There Was No Pain On Percussion, Swelling, Or Sinus Tract. Radiographically; There Wasn?t Any Adverse Radiographic Findings. Conclusion: The ?One Step? Indirect Pulp Capping Technique Has Promising Clinical And Radiographic Success Over 9 Months Follow Up. Perfect Seal Regardless Of Capping Material Is The Key Of Success In Case Of Indirect Pulp Capping.
