ABSTRACT
Aim Of The Study: To Evaluate The Incidence Of Soft Tissue Dehiscence In Posterior Mandibular Alveolar Ridge Augmentation Using Patient SpecificPoly Ether Ether Ketone (PEEK) Mesh Versus Conventional Titanium Mesh.
Materials and Methods: 15 Patients (20 Sites) Were Selected, Fiveof Them With Bilateral Posterior Atrophic Mandibles Divided Blindly And Randomly Into Two Equal Groups: 1. Control Group Treated With Conventional Titanium Mesh, 2. Study Group Treated With Patient Specificpolyether Ether Ketone Mesh. Clinical Evaluation Included Patient Satisfaction, Rate Of Soft Tissue Dehiscence All Over Six Months Follow-up Was Done.. The Operating Time Was Also Measured During The Surgery.
Results: Study Group Offered Lower Dehiscence Rate, Higher Patient Satisfaction And Less Intra-operative Timing. The Lower Dehiscence Rate Was Observed Both Immediately And Six-months PostoperativelyConclusion: Our Results Suggest That Using Patient SpecificPEEK Mesh Would Offer Lower Dehiscence Rate, Lesser Intraoperative Time And Higher Patient Satisfaction.
