ABSTRACT
Introduction: We Had Hypothesized That The Time Of Surgery Does Not Affect The Amount Of Edema After Genioplasty Orthognathic Surgery Either With Using Piezoelectric Or Conventional Saw In The Osteotomy. Methods: Ten Patients Who Had Genioplasty Orthognathic Surgery Procedures Were Divided Into Two Groups: Group A Fiv Patients: The Piezoelectric Device Was Used For Osteotomy Of Right Sides Of The Patients While The Left Sides By Conventional Reciprocating Saw. While In Group B, Their Use Was Reversed
Results: Although The Operation Time When Using The Piezoelectric Device Was Longer Than Using Conventional Saw, There Was No Markable Difference Between Them Regarding Postoperative EdemaConclusions : There Is No Difference Between Using The Two Devices In Cutting Operations In Terms Of Postoperative Edema, Despite The Length Of The Operation Time When Using The Piezoelectric Device
