ABSTRACT
The Aim Of This Study Was To Introduce A Method For Utilizing The Lateral Cleft Marginal Fla And Evaluating Its Efficac In Closing The Naso-alveolar Defect At The Time Of The Primary Cleft Lip Repair. The Introduced Method Was Performed For 10 Patients With Non-syndromic Unilateral Complete Cleft Lip And Palate. All The Assigned Patients Were Treated By Modifie Millard Cheiloplasty With Simultaneous Anterior Palatal Closure Using The Vomerine Fla. Outcome Was Evaluated By Assessing The Wound Healing At The Alveolar Area By Clinical Examination At 1 Week And Then At 1 Month After The Surgery. Detachment Of The Fla And Unfavourable Wound Healing Was Observed In Only 10% Of The Cases Included In The Study. In Conclusion, This Method Is Reliable And Promising For Providing A Soft Tissue Closure Of The Naso-alveolar Defects At An Early Stage And Thus Appears To Improve The Quality Of Life For Such Patients.
