ABSTRACT
Objective: To Evaluate The Mean Age For The Pubertal Growth Spurt In Egyptian Children And Adolescent Females As Detected By The Modifiedmiddle Phalanx Of The Middle Finger(MP3) Staging Method. Methods: 92 Egyptian Female Patients Aged 7-16 Years Old Were Recruited. They Were Selected To Be Free From Any Growth Abnormalities And Any Systemic Bone Diseases. A Digital Periapical X-ray Was Taken For The Middle Phalanx Of The Middle Fingerof The Left Hand For Each Subject, And Evaluated Using The Modified Method Of Middle Phalanx
Results: The MP3-G Stage Representing The Peak Of Pubertal Growth Spurt Was Found With High Prevalence In Subjects With Mean Age 10.25 ?1.288 Years Old And For Stage H The Mean Age Was 12.29 ?1.139 Years Old.Conclusion: The Mean Skeletal Maturity Age (MP3-G Stage) That Represents The Peak Of Pubertal Growth Spurt In Egyptian Adolescent Females Was Found To Be 10.25 ?1.288. That Will Aid In Detection Of The Ideal Age For Treatment Of Skeletal Problems In Growing Females.
