ABSTRACT
Aim Of The Study: To Assess The Efficacyof PRP Prolotherapy In Patients With Symptomatic TMJ Hypermobility After Injection Of The High And Low PRP Concentration During 30 Weeks Prospective Study.Patients And Methods: Thirty-four Patients Diagnosed With Symptomatic TMJ Hypermobility That Confirmedradiograhically By TMJ Tomography In Closed And MMO Positions. They Were Divided Into Intervention (H-PRP) And Comparative (L-PRP) Groups (17 In Each Group). Clinical Outcomes Parameters (VAS, Frequency Of Luxation, MMO, And Joint Sounds) Were Assessed At Baseline And At 6 , 12, 30 Weeks After The Last Injection Session.
Results: Both Groups Showed Statistically Significantdecrease In All The Evaluated Parameters At The Firstfollow-up Interval That Maintained Thereafter. By The End Of The Present Study, The Group Receiving H-PRP Showed Better Improvement Compared To L-PRP Group As Evident By Significantdecrease In Pain Scores And MMO In H-PRP Group Compared To L-PRP Group. Conclusion: The Results Of The Present Study Suggest That PRP With Different Concentrations Of Platelets (most Likely Different Concentrations Of The Growth Factors That Are Released From The Platelets) Exhibit Different Levels Of Prolotherapy Efficacywith High Platelet Concentration Is More Effective Than Low One In Alleviating Symptoms Of TMJ Hypermobility. Further Studies Are Needed To Assess Current Outcome Indicators At A Longer Follow-up.
