ABSTRACT
Objective: This Study Was Conducted To Evaluate And Compare The Internal Adaptation Of Two Bulk Fill Resin Composites; Admira Fusion X-tra And X-tra Fil In Class II Using 3 Different Techniques.

Materials and Methods: 48 Extracted Human Molars Were Selected And Divided Into 2 Groups; Admira Fusion X-tra And X-tra Fil. Each Group Was Sub-divided Into 3 Sub-groups According To The Application Technique; Bulk Fill, Split-bulk And Centripetal. Occluso-mesial And Occluso-distal Cavities Were Prepared And Restored Using Etch And Rinse Adhesive System (Solobond M). The Bulk Fill Resin Composites Were Applied Using One Of Three Techniques; Bulk, Split-bulk Or Centripetal Techniques. The Specimens Were Sectioned Followed By Caries Detecting Dye Application And Were Examined Using Stereomicroscope. Images Were Analysed To Detect The Internal Gaps.

Results: Both Types Of Bulk Fill Resin Composites Showed Insignificant Differences When Applied In Bulk Or Split-bulk Techniques. However, X-tra Fil Resin Composite Showed Statistically Significant Higher % Of Gap Formation When Applied In Centripetal Technique.

Conclusions: When Using Bulk Or Split-bulk Techniques, Either Of The Bulk Fill Resin Composites Can Be Applied To Get Equivalent Effect On Internal Adaptation. Combination Between Ormocer-based Resin Composite And Centripetal Technique Provides Proper Internal Adaptation With Less Gaps.
