ABSTRACT
Objective: Purpose Of This Study Was To Evaluate The Effect Of Airabrasion And Combined Air Abrasion & Ultraviolet Treatment On The Surface Topograghy And Wettability Of Zirconia Ceramic Materials.

Materials and Methods: Twenty One Zirconia Discs Were Fabricated From Copran Ceramic Zirconia, Then Were Grouped Into 3 Groups, Seven Specimens Each: (a) Air Abrasion (150um), (b) Air Abrasion & Ultra Violet Radiation, (c) Untreated Zirconia Discs. Surface Topography Was The Assessed By Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) And Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM). Wetting Ability Was Assessed By Contact Angle Measurement Test.

Results: Nano Topographic Surface Roughness Was Created In The Treated Groups With Significant Difference With The Untreated Group. Both Surface Treatments Enhanced The Wettability Of The Zirconia Discs

Conclusions: It Was Concluded That Both Air Abrasion And Combined Air Abrasion& Ultraviolet Treatments, Enhanced The Surface Topography Of Copran Zirconia Material By Producing Pronounced Nanoroughness .
