ABSTRACT
Objective: The Purpose Of This Study Was To Evaluate Clinically The Nano Composite Facing Of Open-faced Stainless Steel Crowns Compared To Flowable Composite Facing.
Materials and Methods: Fifteen Children5-7years Old Having Bilateral Carious Lesions Of First Deciduous Molars Were Selected. Each Child Required The Following Procedures:
Group 1:1stRight Deciduous Molar Was Restored By Open- Faced Stainless Steel Crown With Nano Composite Facing (shade A1).
Group 2: 1stLeft Deciduous Molar Was Restored By Open- Faced Stainless Steel Crown With Flowable Composite Facing (universal Shade). Follow Up Was Carried Out For All Cases At 1,3,6,9,12 Months For Clinical Evaluation Of Composites Facings.
Results: There Was No Significant Difference Between Both Types Of Composite Facings In Relation To Facing Retention Although There Were Four Cases That Showed Loss Of Nanocomposite Facings, Also No Fracture Was Recorded At Any Type Of Composite During The Evaluation Period. In Relation To Color Change, There Was A Minor Change Of The Color Of Both Types After 3months With No Significant Difference Between Them.
Conclusions: It Was Concluded That Both Types Of Composites Could Provide Good Results When They Were Used As Facings In Open-faced Stainless Steel Crowns.
