ABSTRACT
Background: The Goal Of Modern Dentistry Is To Restore The Normal Contour, Function, Comfort Esthetics, Speech, And Health Regardless Of The Atrophy, Disease, Or Injury Of The Stomatognathic System. Nowadays, Overall Positive Experiences And Generation Of New Knowledge Have Targeted The Immediate Future As A Time To Establish Dental Implants As A Routinely Applied Treatment Modality In Dentistry.
Aim: Assessment Of The Long-term Stability Of Short Dental Implants And Marginal Bone Loss In Comparison To Standard Implants Inserted Simultaneously With Inferior Alveolar Nerve Lateralization. Methods: Implants Were Inserted And Stability Was Measured By Osstell Immediately And 6 Months Post-operative. CBCT Was Taken Immediately After Implants Placement And 6 Month?s Post-operative To Measure Marginal Bone Loss Around The Implants.
Results: There Is No Significantdifference Between Using Short Dental Implants Or Inferior Alveolar Nerve Lateralization With Simultaneous Implant Placement. Conclusion: Both Short Implants And Standard Length Implants Placed Simultaneously After IAN Lateralization Shows Similar Clinical And Radiographic Outcomes. Short Dental Implants Are A Good Treatment Option In Severely Atrophic Posterior Mandible Because It Has Less Morbidity, Less Cost, And Complications Compared With IAN Lateralization.
