ABSTRACT
Aim: The Aim Of This Study Was To Evaluate The Gender Differences In Oral Health Attitude Of The Students Studying Dentistry In An Egyptian Private University Using Hiroshima University-Dental Behavioral Inventory (HU-DBI).
Method: English Version Of Hiroshima University Dental Behavior Questionnaire Was Self-administrated By 783 Undergraduate Dental Students At Private University And Responses Were Collected. The Statistical Analysis Was Performed Using The Software SPSS Version 20. The Individual Scores Were Summed Up To Yield A Total Score. Descriptive Statistics Was Calculated And Mean Scores, Standard Deviation And Frequency Distribution Were Obtained.
Results: There Was No Statistical Significant Difference Between Both The Academic Years And Gender With A P-value=0.63264. There Was A Statistical Significant Difference In Attitude Between Males And Females(P=0.00040). While, No Statistical Significant Difference In Both Behavior And Knowledge Of Males And Females In All Levels (p=0.05188, P=0.85582 Respectively). The Present Study Showed That Males Had More Positive Oral Health Attitude Than Females And There Were No Differences Between Males And Females In Oral Health Behavior And Knowledge.
