ASSESSMENT OF IMMEDIATE ZIRCONIUM IMPLANTS PLACED IN ESTHETIC ZONE: CASE SERIES

ABSTRACT
Objective: The Aim Of This Study Was To Assess The Stability Of Immediate Two Piece Zirconium Implant Placed In Fresh Extraction Sockets In The Esthetic Zone Augmented By Autogenous Bone. Patients And Methods: 6 Immediate Implants Were Placed In Fresh Sockets In Esthetic Zones (anterior Maxillary Region) Using Hexalobe (two Pieces) Axis Biodental Implants****. Patients Were Examined Clinically And A CBCT Was Done For Each Patient Preoperatively Evaluating Bone Density. Atraumatic Extraction Was Done For Anterior Remaining Roots And Drilling Was Performed According To The Manufacturer Instructions Under Copious Irrigation Till Fixture Placement Then The Primary Implant Stability Was Measured Using The Resonance Frequency Analysis Via The Osstell ISQ System*****. Autogenous Bone Was Harvested From Symphysis Area To Fill The Gap Between The Implant And Socket Walls And A Collagen Membrane Was Placed. CBCT And Surgical Exposure Of The Implant Was Done After 4 Months Where Secondary Implant Stability Was Also Measured Using Osstell ISQ System. A Healing Abutment Was Placed For 2 Weeks Then Final Coronal Restoration Was Obtained.

Results:Healing Of Implants Was Uneventful. All Immediate Zirconium Implants Placed Were Stable With A Mean Primary Stabilityof 62.08 (� 1.71)and Mean Secondary Stability Of 67.08 (�1.30). There Was Non Significant Difference Between Preoperative And Postoperative Bone Density. Conclusion:Zirconium Implants Were Found To Be A Good Candidate In Esthetic Zones Overcoming Aesthetic Complications Arising From The Titanium Implants.

Objectives: The Objective Of The Present Study Was To Evaluate The Possible Cytotoxic Effect Of Eucalyptus Oil And 5-fluorouracil On Head And Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma Cell Line And To Compare The Effect Of Eucalyptus Oil And 5-fluorouracil On The Expression Of The Apoptotic Marker (Caspase-3) In Head And Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma Cell Line. Methods:Human Tongue Squamous Carcinoma Cell Line (SCC-15) Was Used In This Study.Different Concentrations Of 5-fluorouracil And Eucalyptus Oil Were Prepared And Applied For 24 And 48 Hours On The Used Cell Line. The Yellow Tetrazoliumsalt (MTT) Assay Was Used For Evaluation Of Cytotoxicity Ofeach5-fluorouracil And Eucalyptus Oil.The Quantitative Sandwich Immunoassay ELISA Technique Was Used For The Assessment Of Caspase-3 Expression In The Treated Cell Line.

Results: MTT Assay Revealed That 5-fluorouracil And Eucalyptus Oil Showed A Significant Cytotoxic Effecton SCC-15cell Line. The ELISA Assessment Of Caspase-3 Expression Revealed That There Was A Statistical Increase In Caspase-3 Expression In SCC-15cell Line Treated With5-fluorouracil Than Eucalyptus Oil. Conclusion: Both 5-FU And Eucalyptus Oil Are Cytotoxic To OSCC But 5-FU Is More Effective In Activation Of Apoptotic Pathways.

ABSTRACT
Since Their Introduction, Implant-retained Overdentures Have Represented A Feasible, Economical, And Highly Successful Treatment Option For Completely Edentulous Patients. Different Attachment Systems Have Been Effectively Used To Retain These Implant Overdentures, And Each System Has Advantages And Disadvantages. The Purpose Of This Study Was To Compare The Retentive Capabilities Of The Retention Sil Material And The Conventional Attachment Housing Of Locator Or Ball And Socket In Two Implant Retained Mandibular Overdenture And The Effect Of 3 Years Of Simulated Insertion And Removal.

Materials and Methods: An Acrylic Model Resembling Edentulous Mandible And Overdenture Were Constructed. Two Parallel Implant Analogues Were Inserted In The Canine Region. Two Attachment Systems Were Used With Their Prefabricated Matrices (Dentium Locator Clear And Dentium Ball Clear) Were Used; The Prefabricated Nylon Caps Were Replaced With Retention Sil Material. All Samples Were Subjected To 3240 Cycles Of Insertion And Removal To Simulate 3 Years Of Clinical Usage. The Universal Testing Machine Was Used To Record The Retentive Capabilities Of Different Attachment Systems.

Results: One-way ANOVA Followed By Tukey Post Hoc Test Was Used To Compare Between More Than Two Groups In Non-related Samples. There Was A Significant Difference In The Retention Capacity (p �0.05) That Showed Higher Retention For Prefabricated Attachment Cap Materials Over The Retention Sil Material Where The Locator Attachment Showed The Highest Retention Value Either With Prefabricated Caps Or With Retention Sil Material.

Conclusions: From The Result Of This Study, It Can Be Concluded That: The Retentive Forces Of Implant Overdenture Stud Attachments Are Different And Should Be Considered During Attachment Selection. Prefabricated Attachment Matrices Give Higher Retentive Force Than Custom Made Matrices.

Purpose:The Aim Of This In-vitro Study Was To Compareto The Retention Of Esthetic Saddle Lock Clasp Versus Conventional (Aker) Clasps In Bilateral Bounded Removable Partial Denture Cases.

Materials and Methods: Two Standard Experimental Models Of Maxillary Edentulous Case (Kennedy Class III With Modification I) Missing Right And Left Second Premolar And First Molar Were Fabricated To Be Used As A Master Model To Simulate The Oral Cavity. Eleven Cobalt-chromiums (Co-Cr) Alloy Frameworks Of Each Clasp Design Were Engaged 0.01 Inch Undercut For All Clasps, Mesiobuccal Of First Premolar And Distobuccal Of Second Molar On Both Sides For Aker And On Disto-proximal At The Axial Of The Buccal Premolar And On Mesio-proximal At The Axial Of The Buccal Molar On Both Sides Of Equipoise Clasp. The Loop Was Centralized Andsoldered Into The Major Connector.Digital Force Gauge Was Used For Both Groups To Measure The Retention. The Pulling Force Was Gradually Applied Until The Framework Was Dislodged.

Results: The Highest Mean Value Of Retention Was Found In (Aker Clasp) (94.85 � 7.17) While, The Lowest Mean Value Of Retention Was Found In (saddle Lock Clasp) (61.06 � 3.52). Conclusion: It Could Be Concluded That The Mean Retentive Force Required To Remove The Saddle Lock Clasp Was Found To Be Lower Than The Force Required Removing Aker Clasps.

This Study Aimed To: Evaluate And Compare The Patient Satisfaction And Dimensional Stability Using Digital Caliper In Class III Modification I Maxillary Partially Edentulous Patients Wearing Removable Partial Dentures Constructed From Two Injectable Thermoplastic Materials Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) And Bre.flex (second Edition).

Materials and Methods: Twenty Four Patients Having Kennedy Class III Modification I Maxillary Partially Edentulous Ridges With Fully Dentate Mandibular Arch Were Divided Into Two Equal Groups To Fabricate The Thermoplastic Materials. The First Group Received PEEK Material. The Second Group Received Bre.flex Material. Patient Questionnaires Were Recorded After One Week And After Four Weeks Of The Denture Insertion. The Dimensional Differences From Two Groups Were Measured At Specific Reference Points By Using Digital Caliper: At The Time Of Denture Insertion, After Two Weeks And After Four Weeks Of Denture Insertion. The Collected Data Were Tabulated And Statistically Analyzed.

Results: Showed That The Difference Between The Two Groups Was Statistically Insignificant Regarding Patient Satisfaction. A Statistically Insignificant Difference Was Reported Between Two Groups Regarding Dimensional Accuracy. Conclusion: There Is A Correlation Between The Patient Satisfaction And Dimensional Difference Of The RPD. The Dimensional Stability Is Associated With An Increase In The Patient Satisfaction.

Objectives: Oral Lichen Planus Is A Common Chronic In?ammatory Mucocutaneous Disease Associated With Cell-mediated Immunological Dysfunction. The Current Study Aimed To Test The Efficacy Of Topical Tacrolimus In Comparison To Triamcinolone Acetonide In Patients Suffering From Oral Lichen Planus. Methods: The Study Included Forty Symptomatic Oral Lichen Planus Patients With Symptomatic Oral Lichen Planus. They Were Randomized Into Two Groups With Allocation Ratio 1:1; Group I Received Topical Triamcinolone Acetonide 0.1% In Orabase (Kenacort?) And Group II Received Topical Tacrolimus 0.03% In Orabase.P Ain And Clinical Improvement Were Assessed Weekly For Four Weeks.

Results: No Statistical Significant Deference Was Detected In Pain Reduction And Clinical Improvement Between Topical Tacrolimus And Triamcinolone Acetonide In Treatment Of Symptomatic Oral Lichen Planus. The Most Common Side-effect In Both Groups Was Temporary Burning Sensation At The Site Of Application. Conclusion: Both Studied Treatment Modalities Exhibited Acceptable Clinical Efficacy In Treatment Of OLP. Topical Tacrolimus Can Be Considered As A Good Alternative Topical Medication In The Treatment Of OLP.

Objective: To Assess The Effect Of Posterior Mandibular Ridge Augmentation Using Mineralized Plasmatic Matrix Versus Autogenous Bone Graft On Implant Body Stability: A Randomized Clinical Trial Comparative Study.

Materials and Methods: Twenty Implants Were Placed In Eight Patients With Defective Edentulous Posterior Mandibular Ridge. After Diagnosis Of Each Case Clinically And Radiographically, Patients Were Randomly Assigned Into Two Equal Groups Of 4 Patients Each. After Implant Placement, The Ridges Assigned To The Study Group Received MPM ? Prepared By Centrifugation Of Patient?s Blood- Mixed With Autogenous Bone Graft; While Ridges In The Control Group Received The Gold Standard Of Particulate Aurogenous Bone Graft With High-density PTFE Membrane. Implant Stability Was Assessed In ISQ Unit By Osstell, And Vertical Bone Height Was Assessed By CBCT At 0 And 6 Months. All Demographic Data And ISQ Scores And CBCT Measurements Were Collected And Statistically Analyzed.

Results: Results Showed That, There Was A Statistically Significant Increase In Implant Stability, And Vertical Bone Height After 6 Months In Both Groups (P < 0.05). The Mean Value Of ISQ Scores, Buccal And Lingual Vertical Bone Height In Was Not Statistical Different Between Both Groups Neither At 0 Nor At 6 Months (P > 0.05). The Mean Osstell Gain, Buccal, And Lingual Bone Height In The Study Group Was Significantly Higher Than That In The Control Group (P < 0.05). Conclusion: The Results Suggest That Both Techniques Can Be Used To Improve Implant Stability. The Use Of MPM In Osseous Regeneration And Implant Therapy Have A Positive Impact In The Outcome Of The Grafting Surgery. It Eases And Enhances The Delivery And Homogenization Of The Grafting Materials.

Objectives The Aim Of This Article Is To Evaluate The Sealability Of Experimental Nanosealers (nano Calcium Hydroxide And Nano Bioactive Glass) And To Compare It With The Commercial Zinc Oxide Eugenol Sealer. Methodology Sixty Single-root Human Mandibular Premolars Were Selected And Instrumented With Protaper Ni-Ti Rotary File And The Final File Size Was Up To # F4/.06. They Were Then Randomly Allocated Into 3 Groups, And All Samples Were Filled With Single Cone Gutta-percha (#40/06) And One Of The Tested Sealers. All Specimens Were Tested By Dye Penetration Test To Evaluate The Sealability Of Newly Introduced Nanosealers. Results Significant Improvement Shown By The Presented Study Suggests That Nano Calcium Hydroxide Sealer Showed Significantly Less Dye Leakage Than Nano Bioactive Glass Sealer And Zinc Oxide Eugenol Sealer. Conclusions The Results Of This Study Showed That The Synthesized Nano-powder Sealers Are Suitable For Use In Root Canal Therapy To Prevent Leakage.

A Range Of Calcium-silicate Based Cements Showed A High Success In Bone Contact Applications Because Of Their Biocompatibility And Bioactivity. Therefore, Silicate-containing Bioactive Materials Are Now Investigated For Bone Tissue Engineering Scaffold Fabrication. This Study Aimed To Fabricate Portland Cement Based Scaffolds Using A Simple And Economic Method. The Prepared Scaffolds Were Fabricated Using Different Concentrations Of Hydrogen Peroxide (10% And 20%) As Porogens With Different Powder/liquid Ratios (2:1, 1.75:1, 1.5:1 And 1.25:1). Results Revealed That 10% Concentration Of Hydrogen Peroxide Produced Scaffolds Of Compressive Strength Within The Range Of That Of Trabecular Bone And Accepted Porosity When The Powder/liquid Ratio Of 2:1 Was Used.

ABSTRACT
The Aim Of The Present Study Was To Evaluate And Compare The Post-operative Pain After Single Visit And Multiple Visit Root Canal Treatment In Asymptomatic Necrotic Mandibular Molars Using OneShape Rotary Instrument After 6, 24, 48 Hours And 7 Days Using Modified Visual Analogue Scale (mVAS).

Materials and Methods: Forty Four Patients With Asymptomatic Non Vital Mandibular Molars Were Included In This Trial. After Confirming The Diagnosis Clinically And Radiographically, Patients Were Randomly Assigned Into Two Equal Groups Of 22 Patients Each. The Single Visit Endodontic Treatment Assigned To The Intervention Group, While Multiple Visit Endodontic Treatment Assigned To The Control Group. Standard Endodontic Treatment Was Performed For Both Groups Using Rotary OneShape Files For Shaping, 2.6% Sodium Hypochlorite For Irrigation And Single Cone Technique With Resin Sealer For Obturation. No Intracanal Medicament Was Used In The Multiple Visits Group.

Results: Results Showed That There Was No Significant Difference In Postoperative Pain (at 6, 24, 48 Hours And 7 Days) Between Single Visit And 1st Visit Of Multiple Visit Groups. But There Was A Significant Difference Between Single Visit And 2nd Visit Of Multiple Visits Group In Postoperative Pain At 6h, 24h And 48 Hours, And There Was No Significant Difference In Postoperative Pain After 7 Days. Conclusion: Within The Limitation Of The Present Study, It Can Be Concluded That: There Is No Statistical Difference In Postoperative Pain (at 6, 24, 48hours And 7 Days) Between Single Visit And 1st Visit Of Multiple Visit Groups. The Incidence And Intensity Of Postoperative Pain In Both Groups Gradually Reduced Over The Study Period. The Highest Prevalence Of Postoperative Pain Was Higher During 24 Hours In Single Visit Group And After 1st Visit In Multiple Visit Group. There Is A Significant Difference Between Single Visit And 2nd Visit Of Multiple Visit Group In Postoperative Pain At 6h, 24h Hours, And There Was No Significant Difference In Postoperative Pain After 48hours And 7 Days.
